A Day at the Calico Ghost Town

A few month ago I had a day trip to the Calico Ghost Town near Barstow. This is one of the few remaining original mining towns of the west. Donated to the County of San Bernardino in 1966 by Walter Knott (Knottā€™s Berry Farm) Once a working silver mine is now great place to explore and relive the past.Calico is on a hill overlooking the Mojave Desert and on a clear day you can see for miles. Calico is a fun place to visit . the day I visited I was treated to Civil War camp and a recreation of a Civil War Battle.
